First Presbyterian Church Leadership

First Presbyterian Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.

Rev. Kevin J. Freese

pastor

Pastor Kevin was called as First Presbyterian Church's pastor in September 2002. Prior to his life as an ordained minister in the PCUSA, Kevin pursued a career in agriculture and dairy farming on the family farm near Vail, Iowa, where he served as elder, deacon and church organist/choir director at the United Presbyterian Church in Vail.

Pastor Kevin seeks to serve the Church through worship leadership, counseling and pastoral care along with leadership development, bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ. His goal in ministry is to share the good news that God loves each and every person, loving each of us first and forever. Pastor Kevin strives to bring others to the understanding of the call of Christ upon each and every aspect of our lives and living. With his roots deep in agriculture; rural ministry and community outreach are at the foundations of his ministry. It is his goal to help us flourish and grow together in Christ, encouraging one another, caring about the needs of those around us and connecting others to the body of Christ. Pastor Kevin takes worship and preaching very seriously, seeking to convey that our lives and daily living are at the foundation of our daily worship and most pleasing to God.

Pastor Kevin graduated from the University of Dubuque in 2000 with a Bachelors Degree (BA) in Religious Studies and then graduated in the spring of 2002 from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity (MDiv) Degree..
